Nutrition is the foundation of CrossFit. They even provide a “simple” prescription for eating: Eat lean meat and vegetables, nuts and seed, some fruit, little starch, no sugar.

I use the word simple in that sentence, because the prescription is made up of one, fourteen word sentence. It’s simple, not easy…

The truth is, the odds are stacked against you. The United States has an abundance of corn due to govt. subsidizing. I won’t bore you with the history, but here’s the important part: We now have TOO MUCH corn we don’t know what to do with it. So we found other uses… E85 gasoline, used for making crayons and medicines… and… it is processed into “high fructose corn syrup” and used as a sweetener in MANY of the foods we come across daily.

See here:  https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/20-foods-with-high-fructose-corn-syrup#section21

That’s only a list of 20, and a quick glance will probably show at least a few of the foods you know and love. (Let me tell you how many crackers I can eat in one sitting 🙁 #sad)

Some of the foods on that list are probably foods most people would think of as healthy.

There’s a new $20 fast food deal to feed a whole family chicken nuggets (what are these made out of!!) on every other bilboard.

A very high percentage of people are looking for the “secret” to weight loss. Sadly, there’s no pill / sports drink / diet fad that will ultimately make the sustainable change they are looking for. Hours of progress through exercise alone will only produce change to a certain point.

The “secret” is: Diet + Exercise.

The diet is: meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, no sugar.

The rest is up to you.

Simple, not easy.
