MURPH 2024

At CrossFit Brownsville

May 25th at 10 AM

Free event, open to the public!

The Murph Challenge is an annual fitness event held in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, a United States Navy SEAL who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery during the War in Afghanistan. This workout consists of a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another 1-mile run, all performed while wearing a weighted vest. Fear not, as the challenge is intended to push yourself, whether you can complete the full workout or not! The challenge not only serves as a tribute to Lt. Murphy's heroic actions but also raises funds and awareness for the LT. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation. Each year, participants around the world gather on Memorial Day to honor Lt. Murphy's legacy and support the cause through this physically demanding and deeply meaningful event.

Teens Summer Program

When: June 3-July 15, 2024

Class times: Monday-Friday 11AM and 1 PM

This program is a transformative strength and conditioning program tailored for ages 13–18. We're committed to providing a personalized fitness experience that empowers individuals to reach their full potential. Our inclusive environment supports both athletes and non-athletes, offering age-appropriate weightlifting, gymnastics, and high-intensity training. With a focus on proper technique, our certified CrossFit trainers enhance strength, power, agility, mobility, and flexibility. By instilling a love for fitness at a young age, we aim to establish a lifelong commitment to health and well-being.

The primary goal of our program is to improve physical proficiency across 10 key fitness domains: stamina, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. We place a high priority on helping our kids develop their self-esteem and confidence, in addition to these physical benefits. Our goal is to provide them with the physical and mental tools they need to face any challenge, inside or outside of the gym. Because our exercises may be modified for people of various fitness levels, both experienced athletes and those who are less active can take advantage of them. Our program helps athletes improve their performance by teaching them essential lessons about good mechanics, recuperation, mobility, nutrition, and flexibility. For non-athletes, our program ensures the development of good living habits, moving them away from a sedentary lifestyle and toward a more active one.
